My Story
Nobody really teaches you about personal finance — you kind of just have to figure it out as you go. That was certainly my experience.
Hi, I’m Sahan — and welcome to OurFinanceJourney.
I’m a 29 year old living in London with my wife and newborn daughter. I first started getting interested in my finances back in 2018, fresh out of university and working at my first job. After my early paychecks went to paying off my student overdraft (we’ve all been there!), I finally had some disposable income. Initially, I spent most of it just enjoying life – but soon I started thinking seriously about saving up for my future. This led me down the rabbit hole of stocks and investing, and I’ve been learning about the stock market ever since.
Over the years, life has moved forward — I got married, bought a home, and recently became a father. With each of these milestones, it became clearer than ever how important it is to have a solid understanding of your personal finances.
OurFinanceJourney is where I share everything I’ve picked up along the way — from stocks and investing, to pensions, mortgages, and more. I am by no means a finance professional, and everything I share here comes from my own learning and experience.
